Inscription

Mary Ann Sanders (née Speechly) (1851 – 23 December 1892)

Mary was born in Horningsea, a village between Cambridge and Waterbeach and is believed to have been the daughter of  John and Emma Speechly.  She married Henry Sanders (1843-1922) and they had at least two children: Emily Rose (1876-1955) and Henry George (1883-1887).

In December 1878 Henry Sanders bought a livery stable business from William Curwain, and the family moved to live at 39 Trumpington Street (later renumbered to 2 Trumpington Street). Mary is believed to have died at Trumpington Street aged 41 years old.
