Elizabeth (Betsy) Basham Scrafield (née Smith) (1810 – 25 June 1874)

Betsy was born in Balsham and baptised there on 3 April 1810. She was the daughter of agricultural labourer John and Sarah and married John Scrafield on 3 March 1835 at St. Clements Church. The couple had at least six children: William (1836-), Sarah Ann Gollins (1838-1914), Elizabeth Mary Gollins (1840-1891), Alfred John (1843-), Amelia Charlotte (1848-1932) and Catherine Emily (Kate) (1851-1939). John was a carpenter and the family lived at St. Peter’s Street (1841), Ely Road (1851) and Milton Road (at least 1861 to 1873).

John Scrafield (1811 – 2 August 1886)

John was born in Cambridge and was the son of John and Sarah (née Gollins). From at least 1874 he lived at 2 Bank’s Court, Little St Mary’s Lane and died aged 75 years old.
