Zerish Smith (née Long) (1855-April 1907)
Zerish was born in Bottisham and was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (née Isaacson). Robert was a farmer, and aged 15 Zerish was working as a servant for chemist/druggist George Beale on Sidney Street. She married Abraham Martin Smith (1850-1935) in 1876 and they lived at 80 Kingston Street where Abraham ran a bakery/grocery store. The couple had at least five children: Ellen Maud (1877-1943), Sidney James (1879-1944), Arthur John (1880-1960), Edward Robert (1888-1968) and Elsie May (1894-1970). Zerish died aged 51 years old.
Abraham married for a second time in 1926 to Louisa Ellis and died at Providence Cottage in Fulbourn in 1935.
Ellen Maud Smith (6 September 1877 – 19 March 1943)
Ellen was the eldest daughter of Abraham and Zerish. She lived at Kingston Street until at least 1919, and in 1939 was living with her sister Elsie and her family at Kelvin Close. She was not noted as having a job on any of the census returns and died at Fulbourn aged 66 years old. She was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 23 March.
