Charles Edward Spencer (1851 – 24 April 1905)

Charles was born in Upper East Smithfield in London.  He married Sarah Felstead in 1874 in Cambridge.  Charles worked as a plumber, and he and Sarah had at least six children: Frederick William (1875-1943), Emily Elizabeth Keziah (1877-1953), Flo Edith Hannah (1879-1935), James Henry (1880-1884), Beatrice Barbara Louise (1885-1974) and Arthur George (1890-).

The family lived at 19 Burleigh Street (1881), 189 East Road (1891) and then 23 Staffordshire Street (1901). Charles died at home in 1905.

Sarah Susannah Spencer (née Felstead) (16 September 1854 – 1925)

Sarah was born in Nordelph, near Downham Market  Norfolk, and was baptised in Upwell on 25th January 1857. Her parents were William and Hannah Felstead, and her father was an agricultural worker.  She lived in Norfolk until c.1863 when her parents moved to Cambridge. In 1871 she was living at The Sign of the Volunteer pub at 8 Green Street and working as a dressmaker. Sarah died in 1925 aged c.70 years old.
