G Gilkes, stonemason, is unknown other than for the existence of one grave in the Cemetery.
Only one grave in the Cemetery has so far been identified as having been built by Gilkes. It is particularly handsome and imposing (the number given here is that assigned in the transcriptions by the Cambridgeshire Family History Society):
St Andrew the Great 559: Edith & Thomas Jakens and others (red marble, column with draped urn and kerbstones: 1917-42) [see illustration to right]
— Please help us to identify other graves by Gilkes in the Cemetery.
