Monument

This appears to be a headstone that has fallen. Only half of it is visible, as it is hidden by a bush.

Charlie worked as a delivery driver/groom and they lived at 97 New Street (1901), 12 Brandon Place (at least 1911 onwards). He died at home and his funeral was held on 5 January.

Mary Stocker (née Freestone)  (26 March 1878 – 28 October 1965)

Mary was the daughter of James (1843-1888) and Emma  (1845-1920) Freestone, brother of James. She grew up at Cambridge Place and her father was a builder’s labourer. In 1939 she was living at Brandon Place with youngest son James and daughter in law Clarissa and is believed to have lived there until at least 1958, before moving to 3 The Green.
