Thomas Sutton (c.1834 – 14 May 1896)

Little is known of Thomas’s life.  He married Hannah Crosier in 1885 when he was c.51 years old.  He worked as a hairdresser and died at 2 Bay Terrace, Norwich Street in May 1896.

Hannah Sutton  (née Crosier) (1839 – 17 September 1922)

Hannah was born in Newmarket and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Crosier (also sometimes spelt Crozier). She grew up on Prospect Row in the town, where her father worked as a dealer.  After her parents died she lived with her brother Charles and his family (1871).  In 1881 she was living in Bell Lane, Brinkley and was housekeeper to her maternal aunt and uncle. She married Thomas Sutton when she was 45 years old.  After he died she continued to live at Norwich Street and took in lodgers. She died at home aged 84 years old and her nephew Horace Crosier was the executor of her will.
