After she was widowed she initially worked as a housekeeper and lived at 11 Regent Street (1871).  In 1881 she was living with her  father-in-law Daniel Swann (1799-1887) at Bridge Street, Saffron Walden. She returned to live in Cambridge after the death of Daniel Swann and in 1891 was living at 43 Kingston Street. She died at home aged 77 years old.
