Monument

Located midway between the central path and the east path roughly 7 plots north of the south path. In front of a tall Celtic cross. The kerbstones are all in place but the left side is now detached. Much of the inscription has eroded or become hidden under the soil.

Relationships: Father and sons

Herbert Taylor (1876-1958) 

Herbert was the third of eleven children born to George and Sarah Taylor. He was baptised in the church of St Andrew the Great, Cambridge on June 24th 1877 and brought up at 3 St Tibbs Row, in the centre of Cambridge. This area was redeveloped in the mid 1970s and is now part of Lion Yard. He became a plumber like his father.

He married Annie Dellar in 1897 and they had five children, Florence (1897), Mabel (1900) Lily (1901) George Lantaff (1904) and Herbert Albert (1907).  The family lived in Eden Street, Cambridge, where Florence and Mabel were born, before moving to Fair Street, Cambridge.

Annie died in 1913 and is buried in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire.

Herbert Albert Taylor

Herbert Albert Taylor (1907-1925)

Herbert died of mastoiditis, aged 18.

George Lantaff Taylor (1904-1951)

George died as a result of an accident at King and Harper’s garage.
