Frances Jane Townsend (nee Loker) (1885 – 9 April 1913)
Frances Jane was the daughter of Arthur and Athelina Loker and the sister of Robert Loker, Florence Isabella, Minnie Sabina Haigh and Edith Sarah Halls. Her father died when she was 13 and she then lived at 82 East Road/The Wheelwrights Arms with her mother and sisters.
She married Robert John Townsend at St Andrew the Less Cambridge on 21st May 1908. She had two daughters: Athelina Florence Townsend (1910-1960) and Hilda A Townsend who died soon after birth in 1911. Frances died in April 1913 aged only 27.
Robert John Townsend (September 1884 – 24 February 1932)
Robert was the son of Robert and Sarah Ann Townsend. The family lived at 100 New Street, where his father was a bricklayer and later publican of the Red Cow.. He married Frances Loker in 1908 when he was 23. He was widowed in 1913, and called up to serve in the Suffolk Regiment in 1916. At the time of going to war he was living at 111 East Road., and was still recorded as living there in 1930. He died in 1932.
Athelina Florence Kennedy (nee Townsend) (1910 – 1950)
Athelina was named after her maternal grandmother. Her mother died when she was 3 and her father when she was 21. She continued living on East Road after her father Robert died. In 1936 she married Thomas Kennedy. In 1939 she was living with Thomas and her maternal aunt Minnie Sabina Haigh (nee Loker) at 207 Mill Road. She died at Addenbrookes Hospital on 7 November 1960, aged 50 years.
