‘Sacred to the Memory of ANN wife of JOHN TURNER who died 23 Oct 1852 aged 57 years’

Ann Turner (c.1795 – 23 October 1852)

Ann was born in York.  She moved to Cambridge by at least 1836.  She was a widow with a son John William Smith (1836-) when she married widower John Turner (1784-1866) at Grantchester on 2 January 1844. John was a bricklayer with two children: Caroline (1821-1884) and Charles (1826-).

The couple moved to live at his home on Park Street after marriage. In 1851 they were living at Park Street and Ann was working as a college servant.  She died at Park Street aged 57 years old.
