Emma Maria Utteridge (née Sissen)(20 March 1871 – 10 February  1937)

Emma was born in Norwich and baptised there on 14 April 1872.  She was the daughter of Samuel and Maria and grew up on Carrow Road.  Samuel was a maltster and general labourer and by 1891 Emma was living at Wyncote, Hills Road and working as a housemaid for the Carr family. She married Arthur Utteridge in 1892 and they had three children: Ada Louisa (1893-), Hilda Florence (1898-1965) and Sidney George (1900-1975). Arthur worked as a railway engine stoker (1901) and later became an engine driver and the family lived at 54 Cavendish Road and then 31 Greville Road (c.1935 onward).

Arthur Utteridge (20 April 1869 – 6 March 1953)

Arthur was born in Haddenham, near Ely and was the son of  Thomas and Eliza.  Aged 12 he was living  in Swavesey and Thomas Utteridge was working as a railway plate layer.  Arthur also went to work on the railway and aged 21 was lodging at Catharine Street and working as an engine cleaner.   He married Elizabeth Mary James (1872-1957) in 1938 and they continued to live at Greville Road.  By 1939 Arthur had retired and he died in Fulbourn aged 83 years old.
