In Loving Memory of ARTHUR AUGUSTUS WALKER died 21st May 1926 aged 70 years

And of ELLEN MARY his wife died 4th April 1962 aged 93 years

Arthur Augustus Walker (1855 – 1926) 

Arthur was the son of William and Harriet Walker. He was brought up in Malcolm Street and Rhadegund Buildings on Jesus Lane. In 1871 he was working as a solicitor’s clerk and then went on to study law.

Arthur married Ellen Mary Church at the church of St Andrew the Great, on February 22nd 1894 when he was 38 years old. He was, by this, time working as a solicitor. They had at least four children: Edward Alan (b 1895), Margaret Nancy (b 1899), Ellen Mary Rose (b 1903) and Arthur Henry (b 1910).

Ellen Mary Walker (1869 – 1962)

Ellen was the daughter of Henry James and Ellen Rosa Church. She was born in Cambridge in 1869. Her father was a chemist and had a shop on St Andrew’s Street.
