Emily Wilderspin (née Mutimer) (1871 – 19 January 1938)
Emily was the daughter of Albert and Martha Ann (née Ford) and was born in Chesterton. Her father was a carpenter who died in May 1872 when Emily was c.6 months old. Martha married plumber/glazier Japeth Edwards in November 1873 and aged 9 Emily was living at the Coffee Place, High Street in Chesterton. She married Herbert Wilderspin on 22 March 1894 and they had six children: Lilian Emiy (1895-1900), Harold Herbert (1896-1899), Evelyn May (1897-1905), Cyril Leslie (1900-1983), Lilian Winnie (1902-1986) and Elsie Evelyn (1907-1965). The family lived at 36 Stockwell Street and Herbert worked as a joiner. By 1930 they had moved to 53 Ross Street and Emily died at the Mill Road Infirmary in January 1938.
Herbert Papworth Wilderspin (1872 – 15 March 1948)
Herbert was the son of George and Margaret (née Papworth) and grew up at 35 Eden Street. His father was a joiner, and Herbert also worked as a carpenter/joiner. After he was widowed he lived at Holbeck, George Street (1939 onwards) but died at the Clatterbridge Hospital, Cheshire aged 75 years old. It is believed that he might have been in Cheshire visiting his youngest daughter Elsie and her husband Albert Jones.
