Herbert Joshua Bacon (1878 – 1 December 1942)

Hebert was the son of Joshua and Alice Bacon. Joshua was a blacksmith and Herbert grew up with his family at 13 Downing Street (1881) and then 48 Adam & Eve Street (1891) before setting at 8a Elm Street (at least 1899 onwards).  Herbert worked as a baker.

He married Florence Neaves on 19 June 1905 and  went to live at 33 Blinco Grove.  They had at least three children:  Alfred Herbert (1906-1971), Sidney Bernard (1908-1984) and Edna Kathleen (1912-1976). He served as a private in the Labour Corps during the First World War. He was still resident at 33 Blinco Grove in 1939, and died aged 64.

Florence Isabel Bacon (née Neaves) (1871 – 24 July 1954)

Florence was born in Coton and was the daughter of James and Esther Neaves.  She grew up at 47 Panton Street, and her father worked as a carter and general dealer (1881). She married Herbert Bacon when she was 33 years old and died in July 1854 aged 82 years old.
