Stephen was a farmer of c.300 acreas and Charlotte acted as a companion to her aunt Mary. After Stephen’s death she moved with Mary to live at St. Giles’ Lodge, Huntingdon Road (1881). Charlotte was then a companion to another aunt – Ann Hayes – at Cantelupe Road, Haslingfield (1891), but by 1901 was living with her nephew Askew Wilson and his family at Priory Road.
