Henry Boning (c.1835 – 3 August 1884)

Henry Boning was born in Cambridge, and baptised at St Mary the Less on 6th September 1835. He was the son of Robert and Ann Boning. Robert Boning was a tailor and robemaker at 19 Pembroke Street, and Henry grew up there. He married Jane Merry at All Saints Church, Cambridge on 3rd July 1861.

Henry worked as a University Marshall, and the family lived at 38 Jesus Lane.  Henry and Jane had nine children in total:

Henry died at 38 Jesus Lane aged 49 years old.  He left effects valued at £594, 11s. In October 1884 the University Senate granted a pension of £30 per annum to Jane Boning – Henry’s widow. Jane Boning died in 1918, aged  82 years old.

Jessie Anne Boning (1868 – 10 February 1870)

Jessie was baptised at All Saints Church on 1st November 1868. She died aged 2 years old.

Percy Edward Boning (25 May 1871 – June 1871)

Percy was baptised at All Saints Church on 29th May 1871. He died at just a few weeks old.

Annie May Boning (10 May 1873 – 7 January 1874)

Annie died aged less than one year old.

Frederick John Boning (9 February 1867 – 29 January 1885)

Frederick was baptised at All Saints Church on 3rd March 1867.  He died aged 18 years old.
