George Hunt Bye (1864 – 8 November 1902)
George was born in Hinxton and was the son of James and Mary Ann. James Bye was a labourer/coal porter, and the family moved to live at 12 Hobson Street (1871/1881/1891). By the age of 16 George was working as a grocer’s porter. He married Frances Ann Bentley (1866-1943) in 1895 and the couple lived at 2 St. Paul’s Walk. He died at home aged 38 years old.
His widow married for a second time in May 1910 to sailor John Edgar Horne (1886-)and went to live in Kent. She died in Chatham in 1943.
