This stone cross, in the parish area of St Paul, is located close to the south wall, opposite the Lodge.  The inscription is only just legible due to the growth of lichen.

HARRIET ELIZABETH COOPER
died March 1909 age 68

Harriet Elizabeth Cooper (1840 – 9 March  1909)

Harriet was the second daughter of Charles Henry Cooper (1808-1867) and Jane (née Thompson) (1805-1890) and sister of Dr. John William Cooper.  Her father was a solicitor, borough coroner (1836-) and town clerk of Cambridge (1849-1867) and she grew up at 29 Jesus Lane.  After her father’s death she continued to live at Jesus Lane until her mother’s death in 1890.  She then moved to live at 6 Gresham Road where she died aged 68 years old. She  is also commemorated on her parents’ grave in the All Saints’ area of Mill Road Cemetery.
