Helen Martha Few  (née Newling) (1875 – 11 December 1929)

Helen (also known as Ellen) was born in Cherry Hinton and was the daughter of general labourer Joseph (1849-1930) and Emily Jane (née Cornell) (1851-1929). Helen worked as a servant at Cherry Lodge, Church End, Cherry Hinton for the Burgess family (1891) and then as a housemaid at 52 Bateman Street (1901) before marrying William Few in 1902. William worked as a railway engine foreman and they lived at 150 Sedgwick Street.  The couple had three children:  Elsie Helen (1903-1991), Harold William (1905-2001) and Gladys Ivy (1907-1997). Helen died at home aged 54 years old.

William Few (5 April 1874 – 13 July 1942)

William was the son of Annie Few and grew up at 15 Wellington Street with his  six siblings. By 1891 he was living with his mother and four younger siblings at 20 York Street and was working as a billiard marker. He married for a second time in 1931 to Mary Ann Priscilla Barrett (1887-1970). In 1939 the pair were living at 150 Sedgwick Street and he was documented as a retired engine driver. He died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 68 years old.
