Thomas Gray (c.1810 – 14 December 1883)
Thomas was born in Cambridge, and married Rebecca Wythers on 28th November 1830 at All Saint’s Church Cambridge. They had at least five children: Jane [1841-1912], Thomas [1843-1900], Maria [1845-1856], George Ward [1848-1936] and William Wythers [1851-1931].
Thomas was a shoemaker, and they lived at 3 Sussex Street, where he was employing 4 men in 1851. By 1871 the business had expanded to be in both and 3 & 4 Sussex Street. Thomas died in 1883 aged 73 years old.
Rebecca Gray (née Wythers) (c.1807 – 21 October 1886)
Rebecca was the daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Wythers. She was born in Ely and married Thomas Gray when she was 23 years old. She died three years after her husband in October 1886.
