Charlotte Haigh (née Barrett)  (1861 – 12 April 1922)

Charlotte was born in Harlington, Hayes, Middlesex  baptised there on 29 September  1861. She was the daughter of hay dealer William and Ann Barrett. and aged 9 was living at the Staines workhouse with her elder sister Caroline. Staines was a large workhouse with 263 inmates at the time. She married Thomas Haigh and they had ten children: Thomas Charles (1879-1940), Grace Caroline (1886-1947), John Ernest (Jack) (1890-1937), Algar George (1896-1963), Patrick Henry (Pat) (1899-1963) and a further four children who died as infants.  (Eldest son Thomas was most probably born out of wedlock as the marriage records show couple married in 1881).Thomas was a tailor and the family lived at Swann’s Terrace (1891), 1 Albert Cottages (1901), 11 Willow Walk (1911) and   Charlotte died aged 60 years old.

Thomas Charles Haigh (c.1859 – 5 December 1927)

Thomas was born in Chatham, Kent and was the son of Thomas and Faithful (née King) Haigh.  The family moved to live in Cambridge c.1870 and lived at 12 Terrace Lane (1871) where his father was a tailor.
