Herbert Hard (1881 – 2 September 1928)

Herbert was the son of bricklayer  Garner and Drusilla (née White). He grew up at Belgrave Road and worked  as a college waiter (1901/1911). He married Alice Fuller in 1913 and they had two children: Mabel Irene (1914-) and Herbert Leslie (1926-1998). The family lived at 283 Mill Road and Herbert died at home aged 46 years old.

Alice Mabel Hard  (née Fuller) (5 December 1887 – 26 December 1944)

Alice was born in Chesterton and was the daughter of William and Rebecca. She grew up on Histon Road, and her father was a domestic gardener, her mother a laundress. After she was widowed she lived at 283 Mill Road until at least 1934, then Mayfields, Perne Road (1937) and 65 Hemingford Road (at least 1939-). She died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Leys Annex) aged 57 years old and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 30 December 1944.
