Eliza Jane Stocks Haylock (née Johnson) (1844 – 15 February 1937)
Eliza was born in March, Cambridgeshire and was the daughter of Richard Stocks Johnson and Mary Ann. Richard was a farmer who died in December 1847 when Eliza was an infant, and she grew up with her mother and stepfather John Wallis who was also a farmer in March. Eliza married William Haylock in Cambridge on 6 June 1867 and they had two children: Frank William (1869-1869) and Alice Eliza (1870-1949). William was a stonemason and the family lived at 15 Willow Walk (1871), 1 Clement’s Passage (later known as Portugal Place) (at least 1881-1901) and 10 Jesus Lane (1911). Eliza was widowed in 1914, and then moved with her daughter Alice to live at 72 Histon Road where she died 92 years old.
Alice Eliza Haylock (22 January 1870 – 7 August 1949)
Alice was born in Cambridge and baptised on 3 April 1870. She lived with her parents until their deaths and was not recorded as having an occupation on any of the census records. She was still living at Histon Road in 1949 and died at Addenbrooke’s Hosptial. Her funeral took place on 10 August 1949.
Frank William Haylock (7 February 1869 – 14 September 1869)
Frank died at the family home in Willow Walk aged 7 months.
William Haylock ( 1840 – 21 April 1914)
Wililam was born in Carbrooke, near Watton in Norfolk and was baptised there on 23 August 1840. He was the son of Joseph Haylock and Ann and grew up in Downham Market, where his father was a shoemaker. By the age of 20 he was working as a stonemason and married Eliza when he was 27 years old. He died at Jesus Lane and was buried on 24 April 1914.
