Sarah Matilda (Matilda) Kitson (1876 – 7 March 1936)
Matilda grew up at Cambridge Place with her parents Edward and Elizabeth. Edward worked as a general labourer and aged 15 Matilda was working as a general servant and living at home. She married George Walter Kitson (1873-1951) in 1894 and they had eleven children: Lily Louisa (1895-1918), Dorothy Elizabeth (1896-), Elsie May (1898-1961), William George (1900-1905), Albert Edward (1902-1953), Rose Agnes (1902-1929), Alice Beatrice (1904-1959), Gladys Nora Joyce (1908-), William Lionel (1910-1967) and two more children who died as infants. The family lived at 7 Terrace Lane and then 13 Doric Street (at least 1911 onwards) and George worked as a cabinet maker.
Lily Louisa Kitson ( 1895 – 29 June 1918)
Lily was the eldest child of George and Matilda Kitson. In 1911 she was working as a servant for William and Kate Christmas at 45 Sidney Street and died aged 23 years old.
Rose Agnes Kitson (1903 – 2 April 1930)
Little is known of Rose’s life. She died in April 1930 aged 26 years old, and it is not known why the date of her grave monument reads April 1929.
