Joseph Patrick O’Byrne (c.1872 – 1 February 1920)

Joseph was born in Drogheda, Ireland –  a town thirty five miles north of Dublin. Little is known of his early life, but he married Nora Leonard Jackson (1875-1955) in Hull in 1910.  Joseph worked as a commercial traveller and in 1911 the couple were living in Shirley, Southampton. They subsequently moved to Ipswich where daughter Sheila Eileen (1913-2001) was born. By 1919 the family were living at 22 Chesterton Road, where Joseph died aged 47 years old. His funeral took place at the Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday 4 February 1920.

Nora moved back to live in Hull and married for a second time in 1934 to Bernard Mark Steward.

Mary Katherine O’Byrne (1880 –  27 June 1953)

Kitty was the sister of Joseph O’Byrne and is also believed to have been born in Ireland. She died at The Leylands in Darley Abbey, Derbyshire aged 73 years old.
