Inscription

Elizabeth Turner (née Marshall) (10 August 1859 – 19 February 1928)

Elizabeth was born in Comberton and baptised there on 17 July 1859 (which suggests the birthdate used on the grave monument is incorrect).  She was the youngest daughter of agricultural labourer Robert Marshall  and Sarah (née Dodson) and grew up on Swine’s Lane in Comberton. Elizabeth married Edward Turner on 17 November 1880 at St. Andrew the Great Church. Edward worked as a  porter at Peterhouse College and the couple had four children: Ethel Mary (1881-), Reginald Harry (1882-1955), Percy James (1889-1966) and Mabel Lizzie (1891-1980). The family lived at 21 Coronation Street (1881), 67 Russell Street (1891) and 69 Norwich Street (at least 1911 onwards). Elizabeth died at home and her funeral took place on 22 February.

Edward Henry Turner (20 May 1861 – 21 March 1930)

Edward was born in Cambridge and is believed to have been the eldest son of Richard and Lydia (née Dunn). He died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 68 years old.
