Emma Carrott [nee Clark] (c.1851 – 5 January 1927)
Emma was born in Boston in Lincolnshire. She married Samuel Carrott when she was 20 years old in 1871 in Boston. They had two daughters: Emma Sophia [1872-1955] and Ellen [1874-1898].
Initially they lived in Peterborough, where Emma Sophia was born, but had come to Cambridge by 1874. They lived at 104 Ainsworth Street [1874-c1893] and then at 24 Devonshire Road. Samuel was a boiler maker, for the Cambridge locomotive works. Emma died aged 76 years old at 18 Devonshire Road.
Samuel Walker Carrott (1848 – 2 January 1936)
Samuel was the son of John and Sophia Carrott. He was born in Boston, Lincolnshire and his father worked on the railway, whilst his mother was a milliner. He married Emma Clark when he was 23 years old. By 1911 he was the head foreman boiler maker at the Cambridge Locomotive works. He died aged 88 years old at the Infirmary on Mill Road, leaving an estate valued at £702, 14s and 10d.
Ellen Carrott (1874 – 12 July 1898)
Ellen was the youngest daughter of Samuel and Emma Carrott. She died at 24 Devonshire Road, aged 24 years old.
