Louisa Emily Clarke (née Woollard) (c.1873 – 23 April 1938)
Louisa was born in West Wratting, ten miles south-east of Cambridge. Aged 18 she was living in Islington and working as a servant before marrying Walter Clarke in 1896. The couple had at least six children: Private Reginald Walter (1896-1916), Ida Louisa (1899-1976), Hilda (1900-1979), James (1905-1985), Victor (1908-) and Kathleen Mary (1911-2007). In 1901 the family were living at 25 Eden Street and Walter was working as a police constable. They later moved to 125 Sturton Street (at least 1911 onwards) and he was a boiler attendant at the gas works (1911 onwards). Louisa died in 1938 aged 63 years old.
Walter George Clarke (7 September 1869 – 1 February 1964)
Walter was born in St. Osyth, near Clacton on Sea in Essex and was the son of James and Sarah Ann. His father was an agricultural labourer and he married Louisa in 1896. After he was widowed he went to live at 125 Mawson road with daughters Hilda and Kathleen (1939). From 1945 to at least 1960 he lived at 40 Lyndewode Road and died aged 94 years old.
