Henry John Deller (c1884-1917), Private (29074) in the 2nd Batallion the Border Regiment, died of wounds sustained in France on 29 October 1917, aged 36. His death is also recorded on a plaque in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery in France (VIII. I. 88).

Henry John Deller was born in Cambridge in February 1881 to John and Catherin Deller. Henry had six siblings, Louisa E (1872), Catherin (1874), Ellenor M (1875), Thomas (1877), Florence (1878) and Alice (1880).

In 1911 30 year old Henry worked as a decorator. He was living at 36 Grafton Street, with his father and older brother Thomas. They may have had a family firm as his father was listed as a carpenter and his brother was also a decorator.

In 1913, Henry John Dellar married Annie Nicholson. After his death, Annie lived at 20 Brandon Place, City Road, in the Kite area of Cambridge.

On 29 October 1917, he died of wounds in France.
