Monument
This set of kerb stones is located in the northern section of the parish area of St Andrew the Great. Walking west from the centre circle count 11 rows along the east west path and then 2 monuments north. The stones and corner posts are intact. The carved inscriptions on the upper surface of the kerbs are still legible but may now be covered in grass. Some of the metal letters on the flower holder are missing.

Benjamin Robert Alfred Harben (1872 – 15 March 1914)
Benjamin was the son of Alfred and Elizabeth (née Howlett) Harben and grew up at 67 Ainsworth Street (1881) and 54 Norfolk Street (1891). His father was a butcher and aged 18 Benjamin was assisting his father, but he later became a greengrocer. He married Emma Morley in 1893 and they had six sons: Benjamin George Alfred (1893-1969), William (1895-1918), Cecil James (1896-1976), Edward (1901-), Bertie (1904-1958) and Albert Edward (1908-1984). The family lived at St. Matthew’s Court and then 19 Albert Street (1901 onwards). Benjamin died aged 41 years old.
Emma Ansell (née Morley) (22 January 1872 – 20 June 1952)
Emma was the daughter of George & Rebecca Morley and baptised in St Matthew’s church with her twin brother Edward on April 7th 1872. Her father was a labourer born in Babraham and her mother was from Cherry Hinton. Her parents and aunt and uncle are buried in the parish area of Andrew the Less but no monuments have been found.
in1881 she was with her aunt and uncle at 63 East Road. She married Benjamin Harben when she was 21 years old and married for a second time in 1917 to William Ansell (1892-). William worked as a goods porter for L.N.E.R railway and the couple lived at 19 Young Street (1939).

Benjamin and Emma’s son William Harben died at war on 30 April 1918. He was married to Clara (née Haycock) (1893-1951) and had a young daughter: Violet Irene (1917-2006). He is commemorated at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery.
