Emily Baker (née Pink) (1864 – 13 October 1934)
Emily was the daughter of Alfred and Emily, and grew up at the Pelican pub, on East Road and Alfred was both a publican and horse dealer.
On April 26th 1886 she married Thomas Henry Cooke (1862-1893) in the parish of Andrew the Less. He was an agent and a tailor and the family lived at 10 Nelson Street (1891) and then at 92 Fitzroy Street. They had four children: Tom (1886-1965), Alfred Percy (1889-), Ernest Primrose (1891-1954) and Dorothy Jane (1894-). Thomas died at Fitzroy Street aged 31 years old.
Emily married for a second time in 1898 to Robert Barker and they had five children: Georgina (1900-1971), Robert Ellis (1901-), Harry (1903-1973), Grace Gertrude (1910-1918) and another child who died as an infant. Robert was a dealer/publican at 3 Crispin Street in 1901 but the family had moved to 26 Norfolk Street by 1911 where he ran a greengrocer store.
Robert Ellis Baker (1868 – 7 June 1956)
Robert was born in Ware, Hertfordshire but grew up in Islington (1871). He was the son of Ellis and Georgiana (née Felstead) and his father worked as a cellarman. He married widow Emily Cooke when he was c.30 years old and died aged 87.
