Elizabeth Blinker (née Miller) (17 September 1845 – 22 November 1913)
Elizabeth was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Ann (née Gifford) and was born in Harston. She grew up at 28 Church Street in the village where her father was a miller. She married shoe/bootmaker Harry Blinker in 1868 and the couple lived in Melbourn (1871), Newmarket (1881), Moulton (1891), 24 Gwydir Street (1900) and 53 Eden Street (1906 onwards). They did not have any children and Elizabeth died at Eden Street aged 67 years old.
Harry Blinker (1844 – 29 June 1928)
Harry was born in Moulton, just east of Newmarket and was the son of Robert and Sarah (née Webb). Robert Blinker worked as an agricultural labourer and aged 16 Harry was working as the same before later becoming a shoemaker.
After he was widowed Harry applied to live at the Victoria Asylum Homes on Victoria Road. In January 1914 he was one of sixteen candidates applying for three places and was awarded a home after a ballot was held. He died at Victoria Road aged 84 years old.
