Emma Brooks (née Grant) (2 June 1849 – 29 April 1911)
Emma was born in Haslingfield and was the illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth. She was baptised on 4 August 1850 and grew up on Harston Road in Haslingfield with her mother and grandparents.
Emma married Henry Brooks in 1882 and they lived at 14 Willow Walk (1891) and then 3 Jesus Lane (at least 1901 onwards). Henry was a hairdresser and worked out of their home. After she was widowed in 1905 Emma continued to run the business with the help of William Beattie (1881-) who lived with her at Jesus Lane and she died at home in 1911.
Henry Herbert Brooks (1847 – 26 June 1905)
Henry was born in Chelsea, and baptised at Holy Trinity Church on 4 July 1847. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (née Papworth) and aged 15 was living in Swansea, where his parents were running the Duke of Marlborough pub. He was already working as a hairdresser at this time, and by 1871 had moved to 7 Trinity Street to work for hairdresser Thomas Hart before starting his own business. He died at home in 1905.
