George Burch (c.1873 – 21 February 1922)
George was born in Ipswich, the son of James and Rosetta Burch and was baptised on 12 March 1873. His father was a police constable in aged 10 George was living with his family at the Police Station in Great Cornard, Suffolk. He married Annie Luff in Eastbourne in 1896 and they had seven children: Florence Elizabeth (1897-1981), Winifred Ida May (1898-1975), Daisy Amelia (1899-2000), Frederick William (1900-1977), Edgar George (1902-1981), Dorothy Edna (1904-) and Edward Arthur Charles (1909-1991). Their first two children were born in Eastbourne, the next two in Portsmouth, but the family had moved to Cambridge by the time son Edgar was born in August 1902. In 1911 George was running The Russian Arms pub in Cherry Hinton and he died at 23 Great Eastern Street aged 49 years old.
Annie Elizabeth Burch (née Luff) (1872 – 10 November 1929)
Annie was born in East Meon, near Petersfield and baptised there on 28 July 1872. She was the daughter of sawyer William Luff and Elizabeth (née Murrant). Aged 19 Annie was working as a domestic servant in Portsmouth. Annie died at Great Eastern Street and her funeral took place on 14 November 1929. 9Her age was recorded as being 56 years old, but it is thought she was actually 57 years old).
