Samuel Charles Careless (1875 – 3 June 1930)
Samuel grew up on London Road, Trumpington and was the son of Richard and Sarah. Richard worked as an agricultural labourer and aged 15 Samuel was working as the same. He married Esther Garner in 1899 and they had one son: Reginald Charles (1900-1972). The family lived briefly at 2 Stockwell Street before moving to 76 Argyle Street in 1908. Samuel worked as a carter/delivery driver for a contractor and died aged 54 years old.
Esther Ann Careless (née Garner) (11 June 1873 – 25 December 1960)
Esther was the daughter of Jonas and Ann (née Uttridge) and was born and raised in Willingham. Jonas was an agricultural labourer and in 1891 Esther was living at home and working as a general servant. After she was widowed she lived at Argyle Street with son Reginald, daughter in law Winifred, and granddaughter Marjorie and died at home aged 87 years old.
