Monument
This headstone located in the parish area of St Paul stands 2 rows south of the south path and about 8 rows west of where the central begins. It faces into bushes. The carved inscription has eroded but still legible.

Mary Challis (née Chapman) (1817 – 6 July 1898)
Mary was the daughter of George and Catherine and was born in Wickhambrook, Suffolk. She was baptised in Wickhambrook on 3 May 1818 and married William Challis (1812-) at the same church on 24 February 1837. William was an agricultural labourer, and they lived at Wickhambrook Road in Lidgate (a village between Newmarket and Clare in Suffolk). The couple had at least nine children: William (1839-), George (1841-), Ann (1842-), Elizabeth (1844-), Mary (1847-), Jane (1850-1881), Harriett (1853-), Catherine (1856-) and Sarah (1859-). In 1891 Mary was living with William in Lidgate, and it is believed he died there in 1894. Mary died at 358 Mill Road aged 81 years old and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 9 July.
Charles Gibbons (1851 – 26 October 1923)

Charles was the son of John and Hannah (née Jeffrey) and was born at Saxon Street, Wood Ditton. His father was an agriclutural labourer and Charles worked as an agricultural labourer too before later working as a bricklayer. He married Harriett Challis (1853-1944) in 1871. In 1881/1891 the couple were living in Hengrave, near Bury St. Edmunds where Charles worked as the estate bricklayer at Hengrave Hall. They later moved to live at 3 Hemingford Road (1901/1911) where he worked as a bricklayer for a building company. He died at home aged 71 years old and his funeral took place on 30 October.
