Monument
This headstone is one of a pair that stand 1 row west of the west path in the parish of Andrew the Great.
The headstone next to it to the north is for the father of Burrell.
At present both headstones are completely covered by ivy, which we tend to leave in place, so neither inscriptions have been checked for more detail. The location is 1 row west of the west path and just south of the path that leads to the centre circle. The foot stones are sometimes visible

Burrell Ind Chamberlain (c.1848 – 11 October 1879)
Burrell was born in Hingham in Norfolk – a village 13 miles west of Norwich, and was baptised there on 9 April 1848. His parents were Charles (1816-1899) and Sarah Burrell (neé Ind) (1821-1870) Chamberlain, and his father ran a grocery/drapers store in Hingham. By April 1871 he had moved to Cambridge and was living at 82 Newmarket Road and working as a brewer. He married Mary Pegg a few months later, Mary’s father was a brewer, so Burrell could possibly have been working for him. They had one son together: Edward Burrell Ind (1875-1960). Burrell died at 31 Earl Street aged 32 years old.
Mary Elizabeth Chamberlain (née Pegg) (1854 – 29 October 1925)
Mary was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Pegg – her father was butler at St. Peter’s College but also ran a brewery. She grew up on Sun Street, and married when she was 17 years old. After being widowed at the age of 25, she initially lived in Earl Street (1881), but by 1891 had moved to Calabria Road in Islington with her son Edward. The census of that year records her as living under her own means. It is thought that the pair returned to live in Cambridge and Edward married Annie Lilla Porcheron in 1896 before he eventually emigrated to Australia.
In 1911 she was lodging with Jules Zingg and his wife Mary at 30 Rockley Road in West Kensington. It is believed she died in London at 12 Exmoor Street Kensington N London aged 71 or 2
