Henry (Harry) Field (1875 – December 1894)
Harry was the youngest son of Henry and Sarah Ann (née Moden) Field. His father was a tailor who died when Harry was 4 years old and he grew up at 34b Hills Road with his widowed mother and siblings (1881). The family moved to 85 Norwich Street, and aged 15 Harry was working as a museum assistant. He died at home aged 19 years old and his funeral took place on 11 December.
Robert Joseph Laws (15 February 1871 – 22 November 1936)
Robert was born in Cambridge and was the son of Robert Laws (1840-1925) and Mary (1837-1903). His father was a railway porter and then a commission agent and the family lived at Norwich Street. Aged 20 Robert (jnr) was living at home and working as a grocer’s clerk. He married Annie Laws on 14 April 1898 at the Hills Road Wesleyan Chapel. Robert’s sister Mary Elizabeth Laws (1867-1914) had married Annie’s brother George Field at the same chapel in September 1892. Robert and Annie had two daughters: Enid Kathleen Field (1900-1995) and Rita Mary Moden (1905-1997). The family lived at 41 Devonshire Road (1901), 12 Norwich Street (1911) and 62 Huntingdon Road. He was a grocer by 1911, and died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 65 years old. His funeral took place on 26 November 1946.
Roberts parents Robert and Mary are also buried in the St. Paul’s area of Mill Road Cemetery, but their grave has not yet been identified.
Sarah Ann (Lily) Field (29 October 1863 – 27 April 1938)
Lily lived with her mother and siblings at 34b Hills Road (1881) and 85 Norwich Street (1891/1901). In 1881 she was working as a dressmaker, as a telephone operator (1891) and then helped her mother run a Lodging House at Norwich Street (1901). From at least 1911 onwards she lived with her sister Annie and brother in law Robert Laws at Norwich Street (1911) and Huntingdon Road (at least 1935 onwards). Lily died at home aged 74 years old and her funeral took place on 30 April.
Anna (Annie) Laws (13 September 1873 – 14 February 1959)
Annie was the sister of Harry and Lily Field, youngest daughter of Henry and Sarah Ann. Before her marriage to Robert Laws in 1898 she worked as a telphone operator. She continued to live at 62 Huntingdon Road until 1948. Annie then lived at 128 Milton Road (1949-1954). She was hospitalised at Mill Road Infirmary (1955) then Union Lane Infirmary (at least 1957 onwards) and died aged 85 years old.
