Miriam Foreman (née Challice) (29 August 1866 – 27 March 1926)
Miriam was born in Newmarket and was the eldest daughter of Matthew and Sarah Challice. Matthew was a chimney sweep and coal dealer and she grew up on Granby Street (1871) and Queen Street (1881) in Newmarket. She married Stephen William Foreman (1858-1947) on 9 December 1885.
Stephen worked as a carpenter and the couple had seven children: Eva Harriet (1887-1956), Ethel Maria (1889-1984), Reginald Alonzo (1891-1915), Adeline Louise (1894-1972), Olive May (1896-1976), Alice Maud (1898-1989) and Aubrey Philip (1903-1949). The family lived in Wood Ditton (1891), Park Lane in Newmarket (1901) and the Street in Kirtling (1911). By at least 1920 they had moved to live at 4 Marshall Road in Cambridge. Miriam died aged 59 years old.
In 1927 Stephen was living at 1 Hope Street and he died there in September 1947.
