Monument

The headstone in May 2022.

This headstone, located in the parish area of St Mary the Less, stands in the south of the centre circle roughly 3 rows from the path. At the top of the monument there is  decorative carving that has suffered some erosion but the carved inscription is mostly still legible in sunlight.. The picture is dated from 2022 before the stone was cleaned to remove graffiti had been sprayed on it.

We know from the grave register that Davids brother Octavius and sister Cecilia are also buried in this grave. It is possible that there was once an inscription on the east face of this monument but nothing can be seen now.
