Henry Frederick Gamble (25 May 1881 – 4 October 1945)

Henry was the son of George and Ann Gamble. His father was a watchmaker and he grew up at 3 Grafton Street (1891/1901) and 90 Norwich Street (1911). He worked as a hatter/hosier’s assistant (1901) and then as an outfitter’s assistant (1911). Henry married Rose Mary Coxall (1885-1971) in 1925 and they lived at Fairlight, 63 Gilbert Road (1939). He died at home aged 64 and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 9 October.

George William Gamble (21 December 1858 – 24 November 1920)

George was born in Huntingdon and was baptised at All Saints’ Church in the town on 22 May 1864 when he was 5 years old. He was the son of William and Emily (née Cooper) and grew up on the High Street, Huntingdon where his father was a pattern maker.  George married Ann Corbett on 7 July 1878 at St. Ives Parish Church and they had four children: Emily Clara (1879-1954), Henry Frederick and a further two children who died as infants. George was a watchmaker and the family lived at Portland Place (1881), Grafton Street, Norwich Street and 105 Mawson Road (at least 1917 onwards). He died at home aged 62 years old and his funeral was held on 27 November.

Ann Elizabeth Gamble (née Corbett) (4 September 1855 – 27 November 1939)

Ann was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (née Peace) and was born in St.Ives. She grew up at Bull Lane, St Ives and her father was a clothes dealer and tailor. She married aged 22 years old and after she was widowed went to live with son Henry and his wife Rose at Gilbert Road. When the registration was taken in September 1939 she was still at Gilbert Road and was noted as being incapacitated.  She then moved to a  nursing home at 96 Chesterton Road, where she died aged 84 years old.
