Annie Louisa Gibson (née Atherton) (10 January 1865 – 14 May 1942)

Annie was born in Bolton, Lancashire and was the daughter of William and Sarah. Her father was a shoemaker and she grew up at 86 Blackburn Street in Bolton.  Aged 26 she was still living at Blackburn Street and assisting in the business before marrying Thomas Gibson in 1892 in Bolton. Thomas was a chemist’s manager (1901) and then worked as a commercial traveller (1911). The couple had one daughter: Elsie Louise (1893-1973) and lived in Derby (where Elsie was born), Ilford (1901) and West Bridgford, Nottingham (1911).  It is believed that Thomas Gibson died in Nottingham in 1922, and Annie then moved to live with daughter Elsie and her husband Bertram Jacob at 11 Collier Road (1924) and 51 Hurst Park Avenue (1934-at least 1939). She died at 137 Shelford Road, Trumpington aged 77 years old.
