Ellen Maria Goddard (née Drake) (17 November 1867 – 10 September1950)
Ellen was born in Norwich and was the daughter of Henry and Sarah. She grew up at Paradise Place cottages, Norwich and her father worked as an engine fitter. Aged 13 she was a pupil teacher (1881) and then worked as a domestic servant for barriser Frederick Haselfoot and his family at 31 Princes Square, London (1891). She married George Goddard in Norwich in the summer of 1891 and they had two children: George Henry (1892-1975) and Alfred Russell (1894-1959). George worked as a railway guard and the family lived at Canns Hall, Waltham Forest (1901) and 43 Hill Road, Forest Gate (1911). By 1915 the family had moved to live at 10 Ross Street and in 1939 George was noted as a retired railway inspector. Ellen died at 10 Ross Street and her funeral took place on 13 September 1950.
George Wilson Rose Goddard (5 November 1870 – 1 June 1943)
George was born in Dereham, Norfolk and was the son of William and Margaret Wilson (née Rose) Goddard. He was baptised in Swaffham on 4 December 1870 and had six siblings, most of whom were given the middle names of Wilson Rose. George grew up in East Dereham and his father was a ‘foreman maltster’. George died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and his funeral took place on 19 June 1943.
Alfred Russell Goddard (31 December 1894 – 3 July 1959)
Alfred was born in Essex and worked as an office fitters clerk (1911) and later as a railway ticket collector (1939). He lived with his parents at 10 Ross Street and did not marry. He continued to live at Ross Street after their deaths, and died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 64 years old.
