Esther Hunter (2 November 1824 – 29 February 1904)

Esther was born in London and baptised on 15 December 1824 at Old Church, St Pancras. She was the daughter of surgeon Frederic Hunter (1799-1831) and Esther (née Oliver) (1806-1883). Frederic died when she was a child and aged  16 Esther was living in Wye, Kent with her widowed mother and siblings. Her mother married for a second time in 1848 to farmer John Perkins and in 1851 Esther was living at Arkesden, near Saffron Walden where John had a farm.

Esther had moved to Cambridge by 1871 to live with her widowed sister Susanna Griffinhoofe at 22 Hills Road. She died at 2 Hills Road and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 2 March.
