Olivina Kirkup (née Laughton) (1873 – 9 June 1913)
Olivina was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Ann Laughton and appears to have been known as Ollie through her life. She grew up at 48 Gold Street and her father was a tailor. She married printer Garnet Kirkup in 1900 and they had one son: Sidney James (1906-1977). They lived at 45 City Road (1901/1911) and she died aged 40 years old.
Garnet Richard Kirkup (23 May 1873 – 19 May 1946)
Garnet was baptised on 22 June 1873 at the Primitive Methodist Chapel and was the son of James and Sarah Kirkup. He grew up at 10 Bradmore Street (1881) and then 8 East Road (1891), and his father worked as an upholsterer. By the age of 17, Garnet was a printer’s apprentice and he married Ollie when he was 27 years old. In 1939 he was living at 192 East Road with his sister Louisa, but died at 25 Perne Road aged 72 years old.
