This rough-stone plinth is 2 rows east of the central path under a very spiny evergreen tree in the parish of St Botolph. The inscriptions are mostly eroded but the name Arthur Ernest can just be made out on the east face. We have relied on the CFHS record and checked with the burial register.

This grave contains the three infant children of Alfred and Jane Charter (née Bradford) Mason. Alfred was the Manager of the University Press, and the family lived at 18 Mill Lane.
Ralph Mason (December 1876 – 17 August 1877)
Ralph was baptised at St. Botolph’s on 17 December 1876. He died aged 7 months old.
Ralph Charter Mason (1878 – 1879)
Ralph was baptised at St. Botolph’s on 14 April 1878 and died before his first birthday.
Arthur Ernest Charter (October 1874 – November 1874)
Arthur died aged 6 weeks old. He was baptised at St. Botolph’s on 18 November 1874 and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery two days later.
