James Masters (c.1806 – 24 May 1882)
James was the son of John and Elizabeth and was baptised on 6 April 1806 at St. Giles’ Church. He married Mary Richardson on 4 May 1825 in Barnwell and the couple had at least five children: Mary Ann (1830-1885), Joseph Henry (1838-1924), Susanna Charlotte (1841-1849), James George (1845-1918) and Susanna (1851-1852). In 1851 the family were living on Jesus Lane and James was working as a butcher/publican, but by 1861 he was working as a cow keeper and milk man. He died at Jesus Lane in 1862
Susannah Charlotte Masters (c.1841 – c.1849)
Susannah Charlotte was the daughter of James and Mary Masters who aged 9.
Susannah Masters (c.September 1851 – 26 January 1852)
Susannah died aged 4 months old at Jesus Lane.
Mary Ann Masters (née Richardson) (c.1806 – 17 May 1873)
Mary was born in Cambridge and after she was widowed lived at 14 Jesus Lane with her daughter Mary and three grandsons. In 1871 she was documented as being a cow keeper and it is known via newspaper archives that she was working with her youngest son James George who was a dairyman. She died aged 67 years old.
