Thomas Murden (c.1786 – 5 May 1830)

Little is known of Thomas and his wife Mary.  They had at least two children: Thomas Press [1824-] and Caroline [1827-1857].  Thomas died aged 44 years old.

Mary Murden (c.1792 – 7 August 1856)

Mary’s death was reported in the Cambridge Independent Press of 9th August as: ‘at Manor Street, Cambridge on the 7th instant, after a long affliction, borne with Christian fortitude and resignation to the Divine will. Mary, widow of Mr Thomas Murden in the 65th year of her age. Her end was peace.’

Caroline Murden (c.1827 – 5 January 1857)

Caroline was baptised on 3rd June 1827.  Her father died when she was 3 years old.  She died at 13 Manor Street, Cambridge in January 1857. This was the house of her brother Thomas Press Murden, and newspaper reports of the time said that she died of consumption.
