This Cruciform Coped stone lies 3 rows east of the central path in the centre of the parish plot belonging to Mary the Great. The monument is covered in ivy and we were unable to check the inscription originally recorded by CFHS in 2000.

Elizabeth Piper ( 1835 – 23 June 1855)
Elizabeth was the youngest daughter of Peter and Charlotte Piper and died at the family home on King’s Parade aged 24 years old.
Peter Piper (1801 – 25 June 1876)
Peter was born in Eton and baptised there on 9 August 1801. He was the son of Charles and Maria and married Charlotte Sutton (1806-1890) on 4 January 1830 at St. Mary’s Church, Islington. They had at least three children: Frances (1831-1904), James Peter (1833-1896) and Elizabeth.
Peter worked as a lay clerk and librarian at King’s College. The family lived at 5 Benet Street until 1855, when the lease passed to Henry Over, who ran the Bath House Hotel. The house was owned by the University and had formerly been occupied by the Bishop of Peterborough when the Piper family commenced the lease. They then lived at King’s Parade and eventually Newnham Terrace where Peter died aged 74 years old.
